On Aug. 19 he dropped a 45 minute video album on his iTunes live feed called ‘Endless’ with no warning at all, but his fans caught on right away and went crazy with confusion! You’ve got to hand it to Frank Ocean, 28, for pulling a Beyonce on us all, with a complete surprise drop of a visual album! He streamed the project live on his iTunes page after fans had been waiting for YEARS for new music from the singer. His fans went crazy on Twitter as the news quickly spread, and Frank’s name rocketed to the top trending topic in the U.S. But it turns out this isn’t the actual album he’s intending to put out, as an Apple Music representative later said to “keep an eye out this weekend for more from Frank.” So what’s going on?!
Fans have been waiting for the release of the album that had been titled Boys Don’t Cry for ages. Instead Frank released 45 minutes of music via his iTunes live stream that fans could listen to and watch as a “film.” It’s been four long years since the release of his debut album Channel Orange and to say new music from Frank was highly anticipated would be the understatement of the year. He teased fans in July that the release was imminent for Boys Don’t Cry only to not deliver, taking a lot of heat in the process with some wondering if it was ever going to come at all.
The reclusive singer proved that all this time was worth the wait and did deliver new music, but many fans are left wondering where the Boys Don’t Cry album is and if Endless is a separate project. They feel like they’re getting messed with again and making their upset feelings known on Twitter.
