If you’re not an Apple Music subscriber, never fear. Boys Don’t Cry will be widely available in about two weeks, and then the whole world can jam to these incredible songs together! (But if you can’t wait, just sign up for the Apple Music trial and you’re good to go…loophole!)
Anticipation for Boys Don’t Cry has been going on for years, as Frank has teased the idea of a follow-up to 2012’s channel ORANGE in interviews and cryptic social media posts practically since dropping his debut record. Excitement really picked up in July 2015, when Frank shared a photo of himself sitting on a floor with the BDC publication in front of him and captioned it, “I got two versions. I got twoooo versions. #ISSUE1 #ALBUM3 #JULY2015 #BOYSDONTCRY.”
July 2015 oddly came and went without any word from Frank, and suddenly it was July 2016. But once a library slip with several due dates popped up on his website — once again hinting at a July release — fans thought there might be some hope. Well, Aug. 5 isn’t July, but hey…fans finally got their new album!
Fortunately for Frank, even taking four years to put out another album (and testing patience with several teases) his devoted fan base is still as excited about his new record as they would’ve been if he had actually released it last year. But Frank, as much as we love the album, let’s not kill fans with that kind of build up again okay?!
