WOW! Former Fox News host, Andrea Tantaros, has filed a lawsuit against the network claiming former CEO Roger Ailes and their current host, Bill O’Reilly, both sexually harassed her. In return, she claimed the network retaliated against her by taking her off the air after she complained. Get the insane details here!
Andrea, 37, filed the lawsuit in New York State Supreme Court in Manhattan, Daily Mail reported, requesting $50 million. “Fox News masquerades as a defender of traditional family values, but behind the scenes, it operates like a sex-fueled, Playboy Mansion-like cult, steeped in intimidation, indecency and misogyny,” her suit stated. She claimed that the network retaliated against her when she was taken off the air after she complained about Roger, 76, sexually harassing her. The lawsuit details that Andrea was told to wear skirts when on air because “Roger wants to see your legs.”
Bill apparently invited Andrea to his “Long island home to stay with him, telling her it would be ‘very private,'” she claimed in the suit. She said he also told her that he could “see [her] as a wild girl” and that she had a “wild side.”
Tantaros joined the network in 2010. She was taken off the popular news show, The Five and moved to a Outnumbered in 2014. The site reports that this shake-up came after she met with Ailes, where she claimed he told her to “turn around ‘so I can get a good look at you.'” After she supposedly rejected his request, and claimed she was demoted to to Outnumbered. Andrew also claimed that Roger once asked her to do “the twirl” for him, and that he said “come over here so I can give you a hug,” to where he said, “I bet you look good in a bikini.”
The suit stretches way further than just Roger, who formally resigned from his position. “Ailes did not act alone,” the lawsuit states. “He may have been the primary culprit, but his actions were condoned by his most senior lieutenants, who engaged in a concerted effort to silence Tantaros by threats, humiliation and retaliation.” It goes on to name the network’s current co-president Bill Shine, Executive Vice President Dianne Brandi, Head of Publicity Irena Briganti and Executive Vice President Suzanne Scott as defendants. She claimed that “she also began to feel targeted by the publicity department at Fox News, specifically Irena Briganti,” the site noted. Andrea claimed in her suit that she informed Bill about what was happening and he told her she should not “fight this” and that she “needed to let this one go.” She claimed after months of complaining she was taken off the air in April 2016, right before she was set to do promotion for her book.
Gretchen Carlson & Steve Doocy — Pics Of The Former ‘Fox & Friends’ Co-Hosts
The lawsuit comes after Andrea came forward in the beginning of August 2016 to claim that her demotion and eventual ban from being on the air was a direct result of her complaints about Roger’s “inappropriate sexual behavior.” This isn’t the first scandal Roger has been at the center of. As we already told you this also comes after Gretchen Carlson, 50, former host of Fox and Friends released a statement on July 6 stating that she had filed a lawsuit against the former CEO. She claimed he allegedly and repeatedly sexually harassing her during her time at the network. Similar to Andrea’s claims, Gretchen also claimed that she was wrongfully terminated from the network in June 2016 for rejecting his sexual advances.
The New York Times was first to report the news.
