Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato have been broken up since 2010, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t check up on her every now and then, which is a pretty easy thing to do now that the singer is touring with his brother. Check out what Joe had to say about Demi’s evolution, six years after their split.
The 26-year-old dated the “Give Your Heart A Break” singer when she was 16 and he was 20, but Joe admitted in a Billboard interview, published July 21, that she has really blossomed since then. “And today she’s the best version of herself I’ve ever known,” he said. Whoa there, Joe! Maybe there is some leftover attraction there? We wouldn’t be surprised, as Demi Lovato, 23, is looking pretty confident and sexy these days.
In the same interview, Joe’s brother, Nick Jonas, 23, chimed in on the pair’s former relationship. “Well, for a couple of years there was the Joe and Demi romantic thing, so I’d be this emotional bridge for them,” he said. “But she and I were productive — we’d write songs about it. We became even closer because it was never going to be [romantic].”

And, of course, the singer herself had to add in a little anecdote about her former flame. “There’s a song on my first album called ‘Gonna Get Caught,’ about how I thought Joe was a player. I remember we were on the bus writing the bridge, and Joe is like, ‘I think it should have a happy ending.’ I’m like, ‘No, I don’t think it should.’ And poor Nick is sitting there like, ‘What are we actually deciding here?'” Ha! What a hilarious story! We love the fact that all three of them can joke about the relationship now. And it’s pretty interesting that Joe is so open about what he thinks of Demi these days.
