Tom Hiddleston: Working Hard to Make ‘Skull Island’ A Hit — Will Help Land James Bond

Whoa! Is it possible something means more to Tom Hiddleston than Taylor Swift? HollywoodLife.com has learned EXCLUSIVELY that the actor is hard at work promoting ‘Kong: Skull Island,’ as it could be the key to landing him the role of James Bond. Read on for the full details.

Tom [Hiddleston] was in full work mode at Comic-Con, because, not only does he want his film to be a monster hit, it also has a lot of say when it comes to James Bond,” a source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “It is as important that it works out as his relationship with Taylor [Swift]. Skull Island has to over perform at the box office, and show that people want to to see Tom, and if and when it does perform well, that will be a great catalyst for him to land the Bond role.”

We totally understand how important the 35-year-old actor’s career is to him, just as 26-year-old Taylor’s is to her – and the chance to star in a franchise as big as the James Bond series would be the opportunity of a lifetime. We’re also glad to hear that Tom seems to be more focused on building his reputation based on his professional credentials rather than the celebrity he has gained from dating the “Blank Space” singer. But, we hope Tom’s focus on the film won’t jeopardize his relationship.

Some of us had questions about the state of Hiddleswift when Tay didn’t accompany Tom to San Diego Comic-Con, especially after all the drama the singer has gone through recently, and the spotlight it placed on both of them. But, all our concerns went away when we heard that the Thor actor gushed over his love during an interview at the convention.

“Everything you do you have to make sure you truly believe in it, and as long as you know that, it doesn’t matter what anyone else says about it,” he told the audience. “The nature of being a public figure is that everyone will have an opinion about anything you do, and as long as you know why you’ve done something and you’ve committed to it with authenticity, then you’re OK.”

Aww, alright, we aren’t really concerned that Tom will put anything before Tay. Now we can rest easy, and get excited to see Skull Island. Let’s hope it gives Tom a serious shot at playing 007!
