This is so sad! The tragic death of Anton Yelchin is still haunting his parents, who will have to fight to gain control over his $1.4M fortune, as he left no will behind. Read on for more details on who will become the administrator of Anton’s estate.
Irina Yelchin and Victor Yelchin filed probate documents in Los Angeles County on Aug. 1 that list Anton Yelchin‘s assets. The Star Trek star had $731,000 in equity on his home in Sherman Oaks, Calif. and $641,000 in cash and personal property, according to TMZ. Anton died on June 19 when his 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee rolled backward at his house, pinning him against a security gate. The 27-year-old had no children or spouse at the time of his death, and his parents are asking that the court make them the administrators of his estate.
We cannot believe how difficult a time this must be for the couple, as they mourn the loss of their child and have to deal with logistical nightmares like this following his death. Aside from fighting for control over his estate, the actor’s parents want punitive damages, “for the wrongful death of their son due to significant defects,” in the Jeep — which is made by Fiat Chrysler, according to TMZ. The couple also intends to sue the manufacturer ZF North America, and the retail chain where he allegedly bought the vehicle, AutoNation.

Anton has been lovingly remembered in so many beautiful ways by his friends, fans and Star Trek co-stars, we hate to think that things will turn ugly for his family. It would be so painful to have to deal with the death of a loved one and a legal battle at the same time. We wish only the best for Anton’s family in this trying time.
