We have to say, Rosie O’Donnell and Elisabeth Hasselbeck’s fight on ‘The View’ was one of the greatest TV feuds of all time. Seriously, their 2007 fight on the show is so epic that other cohosts compare it to ‘Game Of Thrones,’ almost 10 years later. Get the scoop here!
Current and former The View cohosts are looking back on memorable moments in honor of the talk shows’s 20th anniversary and the upcoming ABC News primetime special, The View: 20 Years in the Making. One of those epic moments? The INSANELY awkward fight between Rosie O’Donnell, 54, and Elisabeth Hasselbeck, 39, regarding the Iraq war during the May 23, 2007 episode of the show. That fight was so intense that it is arguably one of the biggest TV feuds EVER.
Rosie and Elisabeth got into it when the comedian said Elisabeth was “cowardly” and called her out for not defending Rosie when the media was accusing her of saying our troops were terrorists. Seriously, this fight got so real that the show’s producers cut to a split screen immediately.
Former cohost Michelle Collins told fans that if they ever see a split screen again, “don’t leave the room,” according to US Weekly. “Fireworks, anger, blood, it’s like Game of Thrones basically.” And if you watch the clip from the feud, you will totally understand what Michelle is talking about

“You are my friend since September. Do you believe that I think our troops are terrorists? And you would not even look me in the face, Elisabeth, and say, ‘No, Rosie,'” the comedian said. “Every time I defend [my opinions], it’s poor little Elisabeth that I’m picking on.” Elisabeth was NOT having that. “Do not call me a coward because, number one, I sit there every single day and open my heart to tell people exactly what I believe,” she replied. Can you say, awkward?
The View: 20 Years in the Making airs Aug. 23, on ABC at 10 p.m. ET. Tune in to watch current and former cohosts discuss this, and other momentous occasions in the show’s history. We are sure to never forget this particular battle.
