Bastille Day Massacre: Rihanna In Nice When Carnage Occurred — Will She Cancel Concert?

OMG! Rihanna had a close call as she was in Nice, France when the horrific Bastille Day massacre went down. She was in the beachside city prepping for a concert but is now getting out of there following the deadly terror attack that killed 80 people.

Oh man, talk about scary. Rihanna, 28, was in Nice, France on Bastille Day, when a terrorist drove a tractor-trailer truck over a mile down a crowded promenade before getting out and opening fire on the crowd that had just finished watching a fireworks celebration. The shocking attack left at least 80 revelers dead and dozens more injured.

Nice is the next stop on RiRi’s #ANTI World Tour and she was scheduled to play Nice’s Allianz Riviera Stadium on July 15. She jetted into the French Riviera city after playing in Milan, Italy July 13 and was spending the day rehearsing when the senseless tragedy occurred during France’s Independence Day celebration along Nice’s beachfront promenade.

According to TMZ, her team was trying to get Rihanna out of the city as quickly as possible in an abundance of caution in case any other terrorist attacks go down there, and Billboard later confirmed through her rep that she was “safe.” The president of France announced that her concert, along with a jazz festival, would be cancelled in light of the horrific tragedy.

Just hours before the terror attack occurred in Nice, she sent out an uplifting Instagram post showing her backstage at one of her concerts and noting that “#ANTIWORLDTOUR have been some of my favorite shows EVER!! Thank you for all the love and can’t wait to see more of my Navy on the road soon!!!” She has yet to comment on the events that went down in Nice or how close she was to the tragic scene.
