This is terrible. Keshia Knight Pulliam and Ed Hartwell are in the midst of a messy divorce battle, and on July 28, Ed finally revealed what really went wrong. After he demanded a paternity test, the former NFL player confessed that he believed he and Keshia ‘messed up.’ Watch him explain why.
Ed Hartwell, 38 dished to Page Six TV July 28 what really went wrong in his marriage to Keshia Knight Pulliam, 37, who he filed for divorce from July 25. The former NFL pro filed his divorce complaint under “irreconcilable differences” and demanded a paternity test from Keshia who announced she was pregnant with their first child, a girl, July 18. The two married in January 2016, and Ed just revealed to Page Six that he had a “sit-down” with Keshia back in February 2016, just one month after tying the knot. “I think we probably messed up,” he said he told the actress. “Our lives and wants are headed two different directions.” So sad.
He told the site, upon them getting married, “she wanted a baby really fast, and what I was trying to explain to her was that — from my beliefs, from seeing other successful people — that when you first get married, especially since we didn’t have a long courtship, that we should actually focus on each other and not just have a baby. That’s something she really did want to do.”

When Ed had his “sit-down” with Keshia he also admitted that his ex of four years had “lost a baby” and it made him realize he still “cared about her,” the site mentioned. He claimed that Keshia “wasn’t mad that he still cared about her [his ex],” but all she was a mad about was, “You don’t want to have a baby, but you’re mad about her baby. You can’t talk to her 13-year-old daughter. And there was a big fall-out.”
Keshia sat down with Entertainment Tonight for an exclusive interview and she sounded like she was on the same page as Ed when it came to their desire to be married. She and Ed’s stories seemed to be similar in the fact that they didn’t want marriage, but when it came to any talk of her unborn child, she was extremely emotional. She said of their marriage, “If we don’t want to be married that’s fine, because we agree on that. Neither one of us want to be married. I have no desire.”
While we had hoped these two could work things out, it doesn’t seem to be heading in that direction. But, we do hope they can figure out their paternity situation, because there is a precious baby on the way that we’re sure will be the cutest!
