It was another amazing Kids’ Choice Sports awards, with plenty of fun, sliming and a host of the world’s best sports stars goofing around at the UCLA Pauley Pavilion. The show was recorded on July 14, but broadcast on July 17. Here’s the best moments!
The likes of former LA Lakers legend Kobe Bryant, 37, Stephen Curry, 28, and Rob Gronkowski, 27, were some of the star-studded guests that took part in the festivities, and boy did they get themselves into some hilarious scrapes.
There wasn’t a dull moment during the spectacular event, as Russell Wilson showed why he was the right man for hosting duties, effortlessly orchestrating proceedings like the boss quarterback he is. That’s why the Seattle Seahawks pay him the big bucks!
In terms of the awards, Cam Newton may have missed out in winning the Super Bowl to Von Miller, but he certainly is the King of Swag, scooping that title ahead of the Broncos linebacker. Kobe was honored the ‘Legend Award’ and gave a resounding speech urging youngsters to dream big in their quest to make it in the NBA. But it was Stephen, who was getting the most love from the kids on the night, scooping a couple of awards, including the Sickest Moves Award and the Clutch Player of the Year. We wonder if he would’ve traded it for another ESPY?

But awards aside, the show isn’t all about who won what. Far from it, we come to see these mega sports stars get slimed and we weren’t disappointed. Kobe, Russell, even LeBron James were handed the slimed treatment and they took it veery well, laughing as the kids laughed at them and cheered.
The challenges were also SO much fun this year, with human bowling with Tony Hawk and Smash Mountain with Rob Gronkowski challenging Russell Wilson being the real standouts. The Key Slime Pie Challenge with Victor Espinoza, Emanuel Sanders, Nikki and Brie Bella, Andre Drummond and Jamie Anderson really had these celebs biting off more than they could chew. But they had a great time, no doubt!
