The US men’s basketball team is like a really great NBA All-Star team. But instead of only taking players from the east or west, the new dream team has the best players from all over the league. The team roster is an embarrassment of riches and should really not be allowed in the Rio Olympics.
It is hardly fair to make the Venezuelans try to steal a win from a team that has superstar basketball players Kevin Durant, Paul George and Klay Thompson. This is the third international practice game for the latest version of the dream team. The first contest ended with the American team coming out on top by 37 points against Argentina, 111- 74. The dream team also routed China, 106- 57, ouch. The US men have been winning and will continue to do so without the help of arguably the two best active players in the world, LeBron James and Stephen Curry.
After going at it for 7 long games in the NBA Finals, with their respective teams the Golden State Warriors and the Cleveland Cavaliers, both LeBron and Steph have decided to rest this summer. They will be watching the Olympics from the sidelines. LeBron bested Steph, bringing Cleveland it’s first ever NBA championship and both have earned a break from the hard wood.
