“Whoa, Rakim’s taken back, way back by his stepmom’s comments about Kendall [Jenner],” a source told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY, referring to A$AP Rocky, 27, by his legal first name. “That’s not cool and he’s already chastised her for spewing such negativity. Kendall was really hurt by his stepmom saying she’s not good enough for him. That really shocked Kendall and rocked her core. [She was] second guessing their friendship and felt she actually wasn’t worthy. He calmed her down, told her that his stepmother’s just looking to start trouble.” How horrible that Kendall, 20, is heartbroken by these unkind words, but we love how A$AP handled the situation perfectly.
Kari Mayers, who married A$AP’s dad before he passed away in 2012, made it EXTREMELY clear in an interview with the Daily Mail that she believed Kendall’s clan was not good enough for her stepson. “Everything I hear about the Kardashians makes me think they are a bad family for Rakim to be involved with,” she said.

“I’ve heard all about him dating Kendall and I don’t like it. They are just not the kind of people I’d like to see him hanging around with. I don’t want him being dragged into that circus, he is too good for that and can do so much better.” Whoa. Can you say shots fired? We would hate for these comments to have Kendall rethinking her time spent with A$AP, so we are really glad to hear that he seems to be hanging tough and trying to hold on to their special relationship by reassuring her.
