In track and field, Americans Tori Bowie, 25, and Dafne Schippers, 24, will have to work hard if they’re going to beat the super fast Jamaican Elaine Thompson, 24, in the women’s 200m finals in Rio. Elaine won gold in the women’s 100m with a time of 10.71 seconds and Tori came out with silver for Team USA with a time of 10.83 seconds. Tori and Dafne will have their chance to take on Elaine again on Day 12 on Aug. 17. Tori is the favored over the longer-distance race, and is hoping she can at least take home a bronze. But we’ll see if Dafne can bring her beast game as well.

Team USA’s April Ross and Kerri Walsh Jennings are out for the women’s beach volleyball finals after their narrow defeat in the semifinals. But that doesn’t mean that people won’t be tuning in to watch what is sure to be an epic showdown between Brazilians Ágatha Bednarczuk and Bárbara Seixas and Germans Laura Ludwig and Kira Walkenhorst. Agatha and Barbara did squeak past April and Kerri in a very close 2-0 in the semifinals on Aug. 16, so we’re wondering who Team USA will be rooting for if there is a little bad blood there.

And in women’s water polo news, Team USA will be taking on Hungary in the semifinals, whom they beat with a huge 13-6 win in the preliminaries. But Hungary was able to bounce back, defeating Australia 13-11 in the quarterfinals. So now that Hungary gets a chance to take on the US again, we’re wondering if things are gonna get really heated. Let’s hope for a fierce, but friendly, battle.
