Track & field delivers again with another exciting Olympic race in Rio. This time Jamaica’s Omar McLeod crossed the finish line first earning his first gold in this fast and exciting event. He has had all the top times in the 100m hurdles in all international races this year so he was the favorite going in. There are ten hurdles to clear in a matter of seconds and Omar cruised over all of them like a gazelle out for a morning jaunt. The race was breathtaking to watch and over in a blink of an eye with a time of 13.05 seconds! It’s the first gold medal for Jamaica in the event so there was plenty of celebrating!

It was an amazing race with an impressive field of competitors from across the globe. Americans and University of Oregon track teammates Ronnie Ash and Devon Allen were both gunning for a precious spot on the podium after a lifetime of training. Unfortunately for the Olympic newcomers, they finished well behind the pack.
