They have yet to play France’s squad in the 2016 Rio Olympic Games, but coming off of a 46-point win over Japan in the quarterfinals, this team has plenty of confidence facing their next opponent. The only game that wasn’t a total blowout win for Team USA was when they took on Canada in the preliminaries, and even that was a 30-point victory. Canada is the team that France just beat to make it to the semifinals, so surely there’s plenty of fans wondering if France will be able to give Maya Moore, Brittney Griner, and the rest of the USA team their first true test of the Olympics!
Although their road in Rio hasn’t been a very big challenge, there’s still a lot of pressure riding on this USA team. They’ve been the gold medal winners for the last five Summer Olympics, and this year’s team certainly wouldn’t want to ruin the shot at a sixth consecutive gold!
