Snazzy and suave! Teams from all over the world made sure to end the 2016 Rio Olympics on a great note, rocking some of the coolest outfits EVER for the closing ceremony! So, who sported the most striking ensemble?! Vote on your favorite!
Every country wowed us with their vibrant fashion choices for the Mardi-Gras themed closing ceremony at the Maracanã Stadium on Aug. 21! Team USA decided to stick with the patriotic theme as they wrapped up the big games, donning Ralph Lauren-designed outfits. This time, each of the athletes sported bright red, white or blue long-sleeved button-ups over their striped undershirts. Completing their preppy ensembles, the superstars wore pristine white shorts with matching belts and boat shoes.
While Team USA looked spiffy, the Olympians from Great Britain definitely stole the show with their eye-catching sartorial display! It was revealed that Simon Jersey, a Lancashire-based clothing brand, thought up the trendy outfits. Clad in polka-dotted shorts and white sweaters, the athletes slayed! But, the craziest aspect was their epic illuminated shoes, which featured flashing bulbs. So cool! The designers even noted how the “USB-charged shoes were inspired by the carnival spirit of Rio de Janeiro,” according to BBC.

And boy, did the Chinese athletes bring it! Wearing crimson red ensembles with yellow accents, they brought the heat — quite literally! We we’re loving the pop of color amidst the huge crowd. They looked so blissful to be showing country pride and they deserved it!
We were also LOVING Team Greece’s outfits! Their athletes rocked a sky-blue ensemble and matching shoes, which went perfectly with their striped flag! They ALL did an incredible job with their super-fly ensembles (especially the oil-slathered flag-bearer from Tonga, Pita Taufatofua)!
