Can you believe it’s been eight years since disgraced politician John Edwards fathered a love child with his mistress Rielle Hunter? Now she’s breaking her silence about what her life is like these days for herself and the couple’s daughter Quinn, so keep reading for all the surprising details.
Rielle Hunter‘s affair with former Sen. John Edwards, 63, completely derailed his 2008 presidential run and ended his political career, but today the 52-year-old says they have a good relationship mainly because they want the best for their eight-year-old daughter Quinn Francis. In a rare interview, Rielle tells Good Morning America that, “We’re very, very good friends and great co-parents, We have the same goals. We want the best for Quinn. We get along great.” Wow! after all that went down with their scandalous relationship it’s nice that they were able to stay on good terms for their daughter.
While Rielle and John remain friendly today, her affair with John destroyed his marriage to his brave, cancer stricken wife Elizabeth and estranged him from the couple’s three children for a period of time. Rielle was an amateur documentarian who the then North Carolina Senator hired to film a behind the scenes look at his 2008 run for the White House. The two began a torrid affair in 2007, with Rielle becoming pregnant by him. John refused to even admit to being Quinn’s father until 2010, the same year Elizabeth passed away.

Of course Rielle has a reason for breaking her silence about her complex relationship with John after all these years. She and her daughter are coming out with a children’s book, “Howie Do It – Finding Happiness Right Now,” that Rielle wrote and Quinn did the art work for. Wow, illustrating a book at such a young age is a pretty big accomplishment!
