Tom Hiddleston and Brie Larson face off against the mythic Kong in the first ‘Kong: Skull Island’ trailer. The first look at the highly-anticipated movie was released on July 23 at San Diego Comic-Con. Click to WATCH!
“It’s time to show that man is king.”
The trailer for the new Kong is much more intense than we were expecting — in the best way possible. Also, Kong could not be any bigger. With an A-list cast, the movie is much more action-packed — even without the giant gorilla.
The movie follows a team of explorers who venture into a mysterious island in the Pacific, who have no idea that they’ve landed on Kong’s turf. In addition to the one and only Tom, the movie also stars Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, John C. Reilly and John Goodman. To start off the SDCC panel, John even ran out doing a Kong impression!

Tom took a break from filming Thor: Ragnarok and spending time with girlfriend Taylor Swift in Australia to hit up Comic-Con this year. He went on stage in Hall H during Warner Bros.’ Comic-Con presentation. Tom’s a fan favorite at Comic-Con — he notoriously came dressed up as his Loki in 2013!
Months before the trailer was released, Tom revealed some exciting details about his character, Captain James Conrad. “I’ve been digging around in some dark material, to be honest,” he told Collider. “There’s something very heroic about my character in Skull Island. He’s an adventurer, he’s an explorer. I mean, it’s a King Kong film. There we go.”
This is the second film in the reboot of the King Kong franchise. The first movie, starring Bryan Cranston and Aaron Taylor-Johnson, was released in 2014. Kong: Skull Island will be released in theaters on March 10, 2017.
