On no! Nick Jonas is lashing out aboutnot getting any nominations for the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards. He’s totally bummed out that his super sexy video with Tove Lo for ‘Close’ didn’t get any love, with zero noms and he’s sharing his disappointment with his fans. Keep reading for his thoughts about the massive snub.
Poor Nick Jonas! The 23-year-old put out one of the most red-hot videos of 2016 with “Close” featuring Swedish singer Tove Lo, 28, but it didn’t catch the eye of the VMA’s, where he didn’t receive a single nomination. The news wasn’t lost on the singer, as he took to Twitter to share his pain. “Disappointed with the fact ‘Close’ got no love for the #VMAs2016,” he wrote after the noms were announced and his name wasn’t mentioned once. We are too, as it’s the sexiest and smoothest video of Nick’s career and totally deserved a VMA nod. Just look at it!
But after some reflection, he realized that he’s still got a massive career that most artists would kill for. He followed up his sad statement with a more uplifting post, tweeting that “Actually after thinking about it more there are so many amazing things happening in my life and career. 9 out of 10 boxes are checked…” Amen to that Nick! He’s a successful recording artist, he’s on a massive tour with Demi Lovato, 23, and his acting career is soaring with his roles on TV’s Kingdom and Scream Queens, as well as his highly anticipated big screen film Goat. He’s really riding high these days!

“Won’t let this one thing get to me. I’m feeling so inspired and grateful these days. Gonna focus more on caring less about the small stuff,” Nick continued. That’s the perfect way to look at it, after all, the VMA’s aren’t the Grammy’s. He reassured fans that after his initial heartbreak of getting snubbed by MTV, that “Everything is awesome,” along with a smiling sunglasses emoji and a fist bump. We’ve gotta love Nick’s positive attitude. He totally deserved some VMA love for “Close,” but he’s got the world by the tail these days so what’s another year without a Moon Man trophy.
