Who’s ready for the Republican National Convention? Thousands of party leaders and delegates will head to Ohio on July 18 to rally with the GOP presidential nominee. But before the convention kicks off, here’s what you need to know about the event!
When is the Republican Nation Convention?
The 2016 convention is a 4-day event. It will begin on Monday, July at 1p.m. and run until Thursday evening on July 21.

Where is the convention being held?
The RNC will be held in Cleveland, Ohio at the Quicken Loans Arena.
How can I watch the convention from home?
Several network will be showing round-the-clock RNC coverage, including CNN, Fox News, C-SPAN, and MSNBC.
CNN began its 24-hour live coverage of the convention on Saturday, July 16 vit its many platforms including TV, the CNN politics app, Snapchat, and Facebook Live.

In addition to special TV programming and live coverage, Fox will also host daily digital hangouts during the 4-day event via Facebook Live from 2 to 3p.m. MSNBC, NBC, and C-SPAN will all offer live TV coverage as well as through their online platforms.

What is the theme of the event?
The 2016 RNC theme is “Make America Safe Again.” It’s message is a play on Donald Trump’s, 70, original campaign slogan, “Make America Great Again,” and references the recent violent attacks in Baton Rouge, Dallas, and Orlando.
Who will speak at the convention?
The list of speakers to address the convention include several of the presumptive GOP presidential nominee’s family members, political and religious leaders, and lawmakers, according to the RNC, CEO Jeff Larson, who released a partial list. Melania Trump, 46, Chris Christie, 53, Ted Cruz, 45, and U.S. House Speaker, Paul Ryan, 46, are of some of the notable speakers to take the podium this week.
Who will be there?
Nearly 2,500 delegated and alternates from all 50 states will attende the Republican National Convention. Additonally, more than 15,000 prestigious leaders will be in attendance. In the 1st Congressional District, Republican have selected Holyoke City Council President Kevin Jourdain and Westfield City Councilor Dan Allie and former state committeeman to represent Trump.
Additional Congressional district delegates will include: Make Massachusetts Great Again Executive Director Bonnie Johnson and Bill McCarthy, MassGOP Chairman Kirsten Hughes, National Committeeman Ron Kaufman and National Committeewoman Chanel Prunier.
