We’ve finally come down to the last stage! After a grueling contest, with plenty of ups and downs, and we’re not talking about the steep inclines, the Tour de France comes to a conclusion on July 24 at 10am EST. Who will come out victorious at the end? Click here to watch and find out!
The final stage sees the riders going from Chantilly to Paris, which is a flat course, and normally sees riders picking up the speed to finish the quickest time possible. It really is a sprint from here on in, and it gets that much more fascinating to watch. It’s 70 miles left to the finish line, so these riders know they’re within touching distance now.
Last year’s winner Chris Froome, 31, has been the man to beat at this year’s race. Once again, he’s just excelled on the course he clearly loves, and despite a nasty fall on stage 19 in the wet conditions, he really has looked comfortable for the majority of the race.

His nearest competitor Frenchman Romain Bardet is over four minutes behind him on the leaderboard, so it really is Chris’ to lose. Surely, he can’t be caught? Well, funnier things have happened in the past, and in cycling you’re always one crash away from disaster. It will make the final stage a must-see.
The Tour de France last three weeks long, and really tests the endurance of these prime athletes. Over those week they will ride some 2,196 miles in various conditions, from mountains to flat surfaces, so it’s the ultimate bicycle race. The winner is set to earn around $55ok, which doesn’t seem to equate to how much work these guys have to put in.
