Talk about a Delta disaster! The airline is under fire after a worldwide power outage caused flights to be canceled and delayed. After their computers crashed at its Atlanta headquarters, passengers were forced to sleep on the floors of airports all over and customers are NOT happy! The hashtag “DeltaDown” swept Twitter with customers posting angry tweets, memes and photos inside the crowded airports after Delta airlines experienced an unexpected worldwide crash of it’s computer system Monday, August 8. “Check-in systems, airport screens and even the airline’s website and smartphone apps were affected by the meltdown, which began at 2:38 AM ET”, NBC News reported. “The airline suspended departures, with airport agents writing out boarding passes by hand.”
The power outage finally ended more than six hours laters at about “8:30 AM ET, with ‘limited’ resumption of flights, but customers were warned that major delays and cancellations would continue,” the site mentioned. Furious customers took to Twitter to post their frustrations, with some people even covering the airport floors having to sleep there. See their tweets below:

Some customers even complained that they received no warning at all of the airport happenings. The airline tweeted August 8 to expect delays and cancellations following the outage. “A Delta ground stop has been lifted and limited departures are resuming following a power outage in Atlanta that impacted Delta computer systems and operations worldwide.Cancellations and delays continue,” the airline said in an 8:40 AM ET update. Adding, “Customers heading to the airport should expect delays and cancellations. There may also be some lag time in the display of accurate flight status at delta.com, the Fly Delta App and from Delta representatives on the phone and in airport.”
