Elena Delle Donne, 26, has reached careers highs that some can only dream about, and now the MVP is proudly speaking out about something more personal — her engagement! Congratulations to Elena and her new fiancée, Amanda Clifton, who got engaged on June 2! Amanda posted this adorable photo to her Instagram showcasing the amazing news. SO cute!
The 6-foot-5, Delaware native revealed the news in a recent interview with Vogue magazine for their August 2016 issue. She talked about the article when she spoke to reporters in Brazil August 4. “It was just one of those articles where they came into my home, spent a couple days with me, and Amanda is a huge part of my life. So to leave her out wouldn’t have made any sense. It’s not a coming out article or anything. I’ve been with her for a very long time now, and people who are close to me know that, and that’s that.” she told reporters, via ESPN. AW! She and Amanda share apartments together in both Chicago and Wilmington.

Elena plays for the Chicago Sky as a member of the WNBA, and she’s a player to watch. She is currently looked at to lead Team USA to take it’s sixth consecutive gold in the 2016 Rio Olympics. She was named the WNBA’s Rookie of the Year in 2013, and then 2015’s MVP. She became a Global Ambassador for the Special Olympics in 2014. As if that wasn’t enough proof that Elena is the real deal, she’s even compared to one of the NBA’s greatest players. “She is a once-in-a generation type of player,” the NBA deputy commissioner Mark Tatum told Vogue. “She’s a Steph Curry.” WOW!
Elena and Amanda work closely together too! The power couple run clinics for children ages seven through eighteen, at the De11e Donne Academy (her jersey number is 11), the site mentions. Amanda played college basketball, so they seem like the perfect team.
