Katy Perry finds herself in the middle of a vast canyon in the video, strapped to a parachute that makes it a bit difficult to navigate — but that didn’t hold Katy back from fighting her way through!
Katy, 31, had teased the music video with a couple of clips prior to the Aug. 4 drop date, and even those quick glimpses were enough to know that her vid was going to be totally amazing. With the way she completely powered through the entire video, Katy’s version of the”Rise” vid is nothing short of that!

Just one day after Katy dropped her empowering new single, a video was released showcasing some of America’s most incredible athletes including Gabby Douglas, Michael Phelps, and Missy Franklin. Considering Katy released the song for the 2016 Summer Olympics, of course the Team USA video gave us chills, as it showed some iconic Olympic moments and finished with sparkling Olympic rings. But once Katy took the reigns for her own version of the “Rise” video, we have to say she did a pretty amazing job giving us chills all over again!
Katy’s new “Rise” music video comes just in time for the start of the Olympics in Rio, as the games kick off with the opening ceremonies on Aug. 5. It doesn’t seem like Katy will be there to perform her powerful song, but we wouldn’t be surprised to see her belt it out during the closing ceremonies at the end of the games! Maybe she’ll parachute her way there, huh?
