1. Winter is coming!
Summer has been brutal across the United States — have you been hiding out under your AC like we have? And sadly, it’s going to be followed by an equally gross winter. The Old Farmer’s Almanac has about an 80% accuracy rate, so while some call their predictions old-fashioned, we’re taking their word for it! “We’re calling it an old-fashioned winter,” Sandi Duncan, the managing editor of the book told Daily Mail. “The ice cold winter is back (in the North East).”
2. The Northeast is going to be colder than normal in 2017
Just what you want to hear! The Northeast is supposed to be cold until about March, with rain persisting until May. But this means that summer will be cooler than normal; none of this hell we’re experiencing in 2016! Fall should be normal, pretty weather.
3. You’re cool for the summer in the South!
Good news! Weather is going to be much milder than normal in 2017 in the south, with less humidity and rain in the spring, and only some pockets of high heat in the summer. However, this means a much rainier fall. You win some, you lose some.
4. Expect a white Christmas in the midwest
There’s going to be snowfall above normal from Minneapolis eastward, with the heaviest hitting from early December to late February. Spring will be warm, with high precipitation, followed by a hotter summer; the hottest times are hitting from late July to late August.
5. It’s a Wet Hot American Summer on the west coast
There’s that rain that drought-stricken California’s been looking for! Summer 2017 is going to be drenched on the west coast, and fall will have above-normal rainfall as well. Winter temps, if you can call them that, will be the norm in the region.
