Most notably missing from the Real Madrid team will be Portugal’s finest Cristiano Ronaldo. The soccer superstar is coming off a huge 2016 having helped his country bring home a championship in the 2016 EURO Cup. Cristiano bowed out of the final game against host country France in that tournament with a hurt leg and is still nursing his injury. He will likely travel with his team but watch this match from the sidelines.

Gareth Bale is another soccer stud who will not be on the pitch for Real Madrid when they clash against European rivals Sevilla. On the other side of the lines, Sevilla will also not be kicking at full speed. They will be resting some of their stars as well who are recovering from various injuries. This is the second year in a row for Sevilla to reach the finals. Last year the team came up short against Barcelona, 5-4, in a wild game. Sevilla last met up with Real Madrid in the Super Cup in 2014 when Cristiano put the ball in the net twice for his team as they shut out Sevilla 2-0.
