All good things must come to an end, and that includes the first Olympics in South America. After two weeks of competition in Brazil among the world’s top athletes, the games will end on Aug. 21 with the traditional Closing Ceremony. It will be so nice to see the athletes who have pushed her minds and bodies to the limit for 16 days come together and celebrate their achievements. When we see gold, silver and bronze medalists — and even those who won’t be taking home a medal — stand beside one another to show their respect for the Games, it fills our hearts with pride. And we can’t wait to see what the Ceremony’s organizers have come up with for our viewing pleasure!

But don’t get your hopes up for a super flashy show. Just like the Opening Ceremony, the Closing Ceremony is expected to be more modest affair than those held at previous Olympics. A big highlight will be when we all look toward the future, as the Olympic flag is passed to the host of the next summer games.
