Katie Ledecky is one of the familiar faces we can look forward to watching in the Aug. 6 events, as the 19-year-old is going to be swimming in the Women’s 4x100m freestyle relay preliminaries. Just one day after Katie swims for the US Women’s Team in the preliminaries, Michael Phelps will be competing in the men’s 4x100m freestyle relay final, which takes place at 9:00 pm ET on Aug. 7.
Neither US team is favored to win the 4X100m free relays, according to USA TODAY‘s Christine Brennan, but both are expected to advance to the finals. And with Katie swimming in the preliminaries for the women, we’d be surprised if she didn’t lead her team to the final!

Considering there’s plenty of other big names swimming in the 2016 Olympics for Team USA (Ryan Lochte, Missy Franklin, or Nathan Adrian ring a bell?), there’s plenty more swimming excitement ahead in the rest of the Olympics. Plus, Katie and Michael have several individual events coming up that they’re expected to medal in, so we have only one more thing to say: Let the swimming begin!
