The American team is coming off fierce wins and perhaps nothing can stop the duo of Kerri Walsh Jennings and April Ross. They are heading into their third and final prelim match against a strong Switzerland team in Pool C. The Americans have already dispatched both China and Australia in straight sets. Kerri and April now have their eyes set on nothing less than gold but first must make it out of prelims before heading to the sudden death bracket rounds. WATCH USA VS. Kerri is a veteran at the Olympics with 3 golds under her belt. She has picked up some hardware at the Athens, Beijing and London games. Kerri always wins gold and has only played with her long-time partner Misty May. When Misty retired from the sport after the 2012 games the pair left a spotless record. In 2016, Kerri teams up with April who won silver with Jennifer Kessy at the 2012 games. April is looking for her first gold ever in Brazil. The new team of April and Kerri are off to a solid start and are looking like a lock for at least a place on the podium. First they must tackle the tough Swiss women Anouk Vergé- Dépré and Isabelle Forrer. Good luck to all the players!
