The U.S. Women’s Basketball team is looking to dominate the Rio Olympics, coming into the games as the overwhelming favorites after winning gold in the last five Olympic games. Yep, that’s two decades of victories and this years ladies picked for the national team are one of the best to ever hit the court. The team’s five consecutive Olympic gold medals is a record for women’s team sports in the games, and they’re looking to rewrite history again in Rio. They’re playing in Group B in the preliminary bracket, alongside teams from China, Serbia, Canada, and Spain in addition to Senegal. The top four winning teams from the A and B brackets will go on to elimination play, and the U.S. is expected to breeze through their games.

The U.S. team features four players from WNBA champs the Minnesota Lynx, including the league’s standout star Maya Moore. She’ll be joined by teammates Sylvia Fowles, Lindsay Whalen and Seimone Augustus, and as if that much power wasn’t enough, 6’8″ Center and Phoenix Mercury standout Brittney Griner and UConn standout and Seattle Storm Forward/Center Breanna Stewart are also on the squad.
