“Steve from Virginia” — later I.D.’d as Stephen Rogata — captured the eyes of the nation Aug. 10 when he used only suction cups to scale the exterior of Trump Tower in New York. After three long hours of effort to make it up the 60 story skyscraper, he was eventually shut down by an NYPD Crisis Response Team that broke out and window and pulled him off the building. While it made for exciting TV, it also made for hilarious reading on Twitter as people shared their own personal commentaries about the crazy stunt.
One reader joked how Steve’s floppy mop of brown hair made him resemble singer Harry Styles, 22.
Other Twitter users couldn’t help but point out the fact that if a guy was able to scale so high up Donald’s skyscraper with suction cups, then people could easily do the same with his proposed border wall that he says Mexico will pay for.
Others joked that after it was revealed that Steve was an avid supporter of Donald who used the stunt to get his attention, the climbing stunt proved that Trump’s followers are crazy people.
Even Bravo’s Andy Cohen, 48, couldn’t help but get in on the laughs, pointing out that it came off as a big publicity stunt for the Republican presidential nominee.
Or course, there had to be a Pokemon Go joke in all of this.
