‘Steve from Virginia’ risked his life climbing the Trump Tower with just suction cups just to get a one on one meeting with Donald Trump! In a video he made before attempting the feat, he claims he did it because he has an ‘important message’ that the Republican presidential nominee needs to hear.
“Steve from Virginia” — who has now been identified as Stephen Rogata — starts out the homemade YouTube video by saying, “Hello Mr. Trump” and apologizing for his somewhat hidden appearance in a black hoodie that covers his head and part of his face. He claims he’s not sure how many people would see his video and he doesn’t want to be recognized and doesn’t address the camera directly.
He then begins his wild mission statement about why he chose to use suction cups in an attempt to scale Trump Tower Aug. 10. “I am an independent researcher seeking a private audience with you to discuss an important matter. I guarantee it is in your interest to honor this request. Believe me, if my purpose was not significant, I would not risk my life pursuing it.” he begins.

Steve then goes on to share that he’s indeed he guy who risked death just to get a one on one with the Republican presidential nominee. “The reason I climbed your tower was to get your attention. If I had sought this via conventional means I would be much less likely to have success as you are a busy man with many responsibilities.” Yikes! Well, he most definitely got Donald and the rest of the world’s attention as his epic feat was televised live across all New York TV stations and even some networks before police ended his three-hour trek up the building by pulling him to safety.
“I’ll get my contact information to your campaign, and if you’re interested you can respond. As for anyone else who’s watching, please help this video go viral so it gets to Mr. Trump, and be sure to get out and vote for Mr. Trump in the 2016 election.” Well, Steve got his wish, as his video has totally taken off and was even played on national TV!
