Tom Hiddleston finally caught up with the modern world when he joined Instagram on Aug. 9, so was his social media loving queen Taylor Swift the one who finally got him to make the big jump? Keep reading for why he finally decided to open up and make the big leap!
Taylor Swift, 26, is one of the reigning queens of Instagram with her 88.3 million followers, but her boyfriend Tom Hiddleston, 35, has remained totally shy of social media until now. He finally joined the site on Aug. 9 and he revealed in a Facebook question and answer session with our sister site Variety that becoming part of the social media site was his own decision and one that was a long time coming.
When he was asked who convinced him to finally join the site, he revealed that,”I just thought of joining awhile ago,” and that he always knew he wanted a picture of his most well-known character Loki to be the first photo he posted. Since he’s busy at work filming Thor:Ragnarok in Australia, he’s spending plenty of time dressed up in character and that “It should be a picture of the Lokester,” that he wanted to show off first. Sure enough, he delivered with the awesome selfie as Loki giving us the “Rock ‘n Roll” symbol with his hand.

Believe it or not, Taylor still hasn’t posted any pictures of Tom on her own Instagram account, so we wonder if now that he’s aboard he’ll put up a sweet photo of his beloved. Tom has appeared on the site kissing and cuddling with Taylor during her epic Fourth of July weekend party on Instagram, but all of those pics came courtesy of her pals who attended and shared the photos of the loving couple. Taylor herself only posted photos of her girl squad at the bash, but never showed off any of her man. So fingers crossed now that Tom is aboard, he’ll give us an adorable private look at the couple.
