Ivanka Trump, 34, can see the future, and according to her, it’s daddy in the White House. Though many Republicans are refusing to come to the GOP convention this week, Ivanka isn’t concerned. Why? Because the party is going to moving forward without them!
“That’s their choice if they don’t want to be part of the narrative, if they don’t want to be part of the future,” Donald’s daughter said in an interview set to air on Good Morning America on July 19. “But this really is about a forward-looking moment. My father is an outsider and we went through a very tough primary. And he emerged from that the winner, but there were certainly ruffled feathers along the way.” Uh, with the 70-year-old being one of the most controversial presidential candidates in the nation’s history, that’s kind of an understatement, Ivanka.
As of July 18, Presidents George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush won’t be attending the Cleveland convention, and neither will Republicans John McCain, Mitt Romney, Jeb Bush and Ohio Governor John Kasich. That’s a pretty significant group of conservatives to be boycotting the party’s convention on account of Donald. But does that mean they are the old and Donald is the new, as Ivanka believes.

The business tycoon’s campaign chairman, Paul Manafort, agrees with Ivanka, saying that the Bush family is “part of the past,” while Donald is “the future” of the GOP. And former House Speaker Newt Gingrich — who missed out on Donald’s VP slot — said the Bushes are acting “childishly” by not making an appearance. Ouch.
Democrats, however, are enjoying the opportunity to point out that an “unprecedented amount” of Republicans are skipping the convention. “There’s a reason many Republicans were unwilling to show up at their own convention in Cleveland this week. That’s typical for maybe a candidate who has a really tough race – lots of candidates make those choices,” Democratic Party Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz said at a morning press conference in Ohio. Well, at least one party is happy. At least, at the moment.
HollywoodLifers, do you agree with Ivanka that Donald is the “future” of the Republican Party?
