And there you have it! Roger Ailes gets fired from FOX News as the CEO has been front and center of the shocking lawsuit Gretchen Carlson filed against him, plus Megyn Kelly’s claims that he sexually harassed her when she was a young correspondent at FOX.
FOX News terminated Roger Ailes, 76, on July 19, multiple reports confirm. “According to a document obtained by the Drudge Report, Ailes will receive at least a $40 million buyout from the network,” The Daily Beast reports.
The news comes as no shock since it was rumored that the CEO would be fired and out of his position of power during the week of July 18. A report claimed Rupert Murdoch, the co-chairman of Fox News’ parent company 21st Century Fox, and his sons Lachlan and CEO James decided to remove Roger Ailes from his position as CEO following a sexual-harassment investigation of Ailes by NY law firm Paul, Weiss, sources told New York magazine.

Roger was the center of a messy harassment suit filed by Gretchen Carlson, 50, claiming the CEO repeatedly sexually harassed her during her time at FOX News. Gretchen also claimed that she was wrongfully terminated from the network in June 2016 for rebuffing his sexual advances.
