Synchronized diving competition is not as simple as solo diving because it involves two competitors diving at the same time from boards right next to each other. The judges will focus on how each team of two dive individually as well as how well they are synced as a team. The closer they are to performing in time with each other, the better the score.

The teams which may give the Americans the most trouble may include divers from Russia, China and home team Brazil. Great Britain also has a fantastic diving duo which very well could run away with a gold in this event. The Russians enter this contest after a controversial start to the 2016 Rio games. Over 100 Olympians on the Russian team were disqualified for participating in a government sanctioned doping program. With a team eligible in this event, the Russians have a rare chance to steal a medal after losing so many athletes to the disqualification. No Cable TV? Relax!
