August 11 is the moment of truth for two of swimming’s biggest names! Michael Phelps and Ryan Lochte have been battling it out in the men’s 200m individual medley qualifiers, but now there’s medals on the line. Watch a live stream of their race and all other swimming events right here!
Michael Phelps and Ryan Lochte made one awesome team as part of the gold-medal winning Team USA for the men’s 4x200m freestyle relay on Aug. 9, but now they’re pitted against each other on Aug. 11. Although Ryan was initially the swimmer with the best time in the 200m individual medley, Michael is coming off of a double-gold night…so this could be anyone’s race!
Starting at 12 pm ET, you can catch all of the swimming action on NBC’s live stream of the Olympics — all you have to do is enter your cable info. Ryan and Michael won’t be facing off until 10:01 pm ET, but there’s plenty more swimming where that came from! CLICK HERE TO WATCH THE OLYMPICS SWIMMING LIVE STREAM.
While Michael and Ryan’s final is surely the most highly anticipated one of the Day 6 swimming events, there’s plenty of other exciting things to catch on Aug. 11. The heats that begin at noon are the men’s 50m freestyle, the women’s 800m freestyle, men’s 100m butterfly, and women’s 200m backstroke. Starting at 9:00 pm ET, there are few semifinals (men’s 50m freestyle, women’s 200m backstroke semis, and the men’s 100m butterfly semis), and a couple other medal races besides Michael and Ryan’s (women’s 200m breaststroke and women’s 100m freestyle).
Katie Ledecky will also be making an appearance on Aug. 11, as she is competing in the women’s 800m freestyle — her last event for the Rio Olympic games. The final for that race takes place on Aug. 12 at 9:20 pm ET, but it will still be interesting to see how she does in the heats!

Crazy enough, Michael has to swim another event before taking on Ryan head to head at 10 pm ET. He’s also doing the men’s 100m butterfly, so he’ll be swimming at 1:16 pm ET too. Will this end up making Michael tired, or get him nice and warmed up to face Ryan? We’ll definitely be watching!
HollywoodLifers, who do you want to win: Ryan or Michael?
