Thomas Gibson is clearly not thrilled about leaving ‘Criminal Minds.’ After playing Special Agent Aaron Hotchner for 12 season, he was fired from the show for allegedly kicking a writer on set — and now he’s broken his silence and is saying goodbye.
“I love Criminal Minds and have put my heart and soul into it for the last twelve years. I had hoped to see it through to the end, but that won’t be possible now,” he said in a statement on Friday. “I would just like to say thank you to the writers, producers, actors, our amazing crew, and, most importantly, the best fans that a show could ever hope to have.”

The actor was fired on Aug. 12, following an altercation that happened weeks ago on set with a writer on the show. What started as creative differences got out of control; Thomas told TMZ his actions were “in retaliation” after the writer became “aggressive.”
“There were creative differences on the set and a disagreement,” Thomas said. “I regret that it occurred. We all want to work together as a team to make the best show possible. We always have and always will.”
This is just the latest shakeup for the CBS show. After season 11, they lost Shemar Moore, 46, who had been on the show since its premiere in 2005, left the show at the end of season 11. So it looks like another season will happen without their leading man. Are you shocked to see him get fired?
